Obituary for Frank Consiglio
Frank A. Consiglio, passed away on January 11, 2018 At Boston Medical Center after a brief illness. He was 89 years old. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Ethel M. (Braman) Consiglio who died in 1985. He leaves his loving daughter, Mary Consiglio of Shrewsbury and a son John Consiglio; his devoted sister, Dorothy Consiglio of North Andover; many cousins, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings, John, Mauro, Salavtore, Lucy, Frances and Antoinette. Born in Worcester, he was the son of Italian immigrants, Mauro and Lucrezia (Mascolo) Consiglio. Mr. Consiglio was raised on Shrewsbury Street in Worcester and graduated from North High School. He attended the School of Barbering in Boston. Frank was a self-employed barber in Northborough for many years retiring in the mid 1980s. Frank lived in Northborough for many years before moving to Newton, and later to Hopkinton. He served on the Northborough Board of Selectmen for nine years during the 1970s -1980s, and was a member of the Vincent Picard American Legion Post. Mr. Consiglio loved ballroom dancing and woodworking. He was the ultimate “makeshift king.” Frank will be remembered for his love of politics. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Frank was a former member of St. Bernadette Parish in Northborough.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street Northborough. His funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, January 17th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bernadette Parish, 266 Main Street Northborough. Burial with military honors will follow in Howard Street Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National M.S. Society, Greater New England Chapter, 101A 1st Ave., Waltham, MA 02451.
